Immediately, you can tell this is a well-made product. Created by one of the best-known weapons makers, Smith & Wesson, and manufactured by the equally praised Taylor Cutlery, you can be sure this product is built to last.

A full tang axe with 1070 High Carbon Steel and Kraton overlays on the handle, the SW671 will bash through any obstruction you put in its way. A premium nylon sheath is included with a belt loop, though, given the size and weight of this axe, belt carry may be uncomfortable.

This extraordinary piece of equipment is forceful and durable with the ability to hammer through wood, smash cinder blocks, and penetrate metal without incurring heavy damage! Aesthetically, it is simple and striking. The all-black design with Smith & Wesson logo embossed on the handle and head gives it a powerful and refined appearance.

Features

Smith & Wesson SW671 Tomahawk testingSmith & Wesson has been crafting high-performance, high-grade products since 1852, and they are renowned for their indisputable precision control and performance. The 1070 high carbon steel has a protective coating mainly useful in minimizing glare, as it is not very effective in resisting scuffs and scratches.

There is visible evidence of slight wear and tear after moderate use, but it does not affect the strength of the axe, and with proper care this product will last you a long time. The overall design is traditional, with the Smith & Wesson logo embossed in silver on the head and handle. Personally, I think they could have done without the logo on the head to keep it looking more refined and smooth.

The aggressive spiked tip will cleanly smash through and penetrate cinder blocks, rock, masonry, steel, aluminium and more. The Kraton scales on the handle offer you a sturdy grip even when wet, however, they may prove to be uncomfortable after prolonged use and so gloves are highly recommended. All in all, this product has incredible force and power, which definitely makes it a great extraction and evasion tool.

The SW671 tomahawk is practical enough for the average outdoorsmen’s tasks, but powerful enough for to do a firefighter’s job. This hefty and reliable axe is ideal for cutting, hammering, smashing, penetrating tough materials, breaching, rescue and emergency procedures, and so much more. It is on the heavy size, making quick slashing and throwing difficult, but that highlights the effectiveness and strength that it possesses.

Wrap UpSmith & Wesson SW671 Tactical Tomahawk

This tool is definitely not for the faint of heart. One of the more rugged tomahawks I’ve seen, this covert and powerful tool can handle everything from tearing through cars and doors to basic woodcutting. Smith & Wesson has always been dedicated to creating superior products at affordable prices, and they definitely succeeded with this tactical tomahawk.

The sheath offers secure carry and easy extraction, which makes it very convenient but the weight of the tool makes carrying it on your belt for long periods of time impractical. This tool is best for heavy-duty, hardcore jobs, rather than light activities or excursions that require extended carry.

If you need to demolish a wall, tear through concrete, or breach a door, this rugged tool will do the job with ease. Keep in mind that its size does make it hard to generate speed while striking, so throwing and combat may be difficult. For the price, the quality of this tool is outstanding.
